Marcus has been drying structures in Bergen County for fourteen years, and he’ll tell you the first thing he checks isn’t the standing water you can see, it’s the vapor pressure differential you can’t. That measurement tells him whether moisture is still migrating through wall cavities, even when the carpet feels dry to the touch. He’s IICRC-certified in Water Damage Restoration (WRT) and Applied Structural Drying (ASD), and he keeps a laminated psychrometric chart in his truck that he’s marked up so many times it’s held together with packing tape. On weekends he coaches a youth basketball league in Teaneck, and he applies the same patience to explaining moisture logs to homeowners who’ve never heard the term before.
Elena R. – Senior Mold Remediation Installer
Elena started in restoration after a summer job cleaning up after Hurricane Irene in 2011, and she never left. She specializes in tertiary drying, the final phase where most crews rush through and she slows down, running her Protimeter through every stud bay until the readings match the dry standard she documented on day one. She runs the Injectidry systems on hardwood floor rescues, a specialty that requires reading grain patterns to know where to place the injection ports without damaging the finish. She’s studying for her IICRC Fire and Smoke Restoration Technician certification now, and Marcus has her practice containment builds in the warehouse every Friday until they’re faster than his. She lives in Leonia, takes the bus to Englewood when her car’s in the shop, and she’s the one who remembers to text homeowners the photo record link before the crew drives away.
